I’m a Scot who’s always had an interest in people and cultures further afield, so when I had the chance to study in Indianapolis as part of my degree, I grabbed it. Living in America I was totally immersed in the culture, so when its traditions and customs started hitting these shores (like having a prom and wearing your school’s logo on your sweatshirt) I quickly tapped into them – and HoodieTee was born.
Although my early career was spent elsewhere, my longer-term role has always been managing and developing the family business, Scotshirts (which my parents Neil and Gail started over 30 years ago). So I used my knowledge of printing and embroidering shirts to create HoodieTee to give school leavers, clubs and universities the quality clothing they were looking for – and look what it’s grown into!
Did you know we print and embroider over 50,000 hoodies a year for school leavers, clubs, and universities? That’s a whole lot of hoodies!
Alongside my reputation as ‘the t-shirt lady’ I’m known for being bubbly and chatty and making people feel comfortable because I’ll talk to anyone (if we ever meet ask me about the Six Nations Rugby event!). And even when the team and I are packing an urgent order of shirts late into the night, I’ll still be blethering away to keep our motivation and morale up. That’s because I personally deal with all enquiries and make sure every order is double then triple checked by our team.
I take great pride in the fact the HoodieTee is a family business – even the team that works here feels like family. And with the help of our happy customers we’ll continue to grow the business, all the while keeping that personal touch people love us for.
Unlike most of the online suppliers who give the impression that they do the job themselves, they don’t. We print and embroider everything ourselves.
